Chicago's South Side Irish St. Patrick's Day Parade

Marshals

If you want a fun-filled way to experience the parade while also
helping your community, consider being a parade marshal! Marshal responsibilities include:

  • Providing information to parade participants and attendees
  • Assisting with crowd control
  • Attending one meeting the Friday evening prior to the parade

Marshals are not expected to approach anyone exhibiting inappropriate behavior. Rather, a marshal should simply inform the nearest law enforcement official of any problems and let that person handle the situation.

No experience needed! Marshals are an integral part of making each parade a success. We greatly appreciate anyone who is willing to volunteer their time!

If you are at least 18 years of age and are interested in becoming a 2009 Parade Marshal, please contact us via e-mail at southsideirishparade@yahoo.com, or via voice mail at 773.393.8687.
