The South Side Irish Parade Committee is pleased to announce that our Street Pole Banner Program is back again this year by popular demand. In 2007, we made the Street Pole Banner Program, which had previously been primarily utilized by our friends in the business community, available to the general public. As anyone who drove down Western Ave. in early March for the past two years can attest, the response was truly overwhelming! If you didn’t see the banners last spring, please click here to view a template.
Here are the particulars regarding this year’s Street Pole Banner Program:
- Cost For New Banners: $175.00/new banner (includes production of the banner, banner hanging at the beginning of March, banner removal later in March after the parade, and off-season storage)
- Cost For Existing Banners: $100.00/existing banner (includes banner hanging at the beginning of March, banner removal later in March after the parade, and off-season storage)
- Banner Placement On Western Avenue: A location placement along the parade route on Western Avenue can be requested, but due to the number of banners that we will be hanging and the countless location requests we will have, we CANNOT guarantee placement on the route.
- Display at 115 Bourbon Street: Again this year, we will be displaying many of the street pole banners at our fundraiser on Friday, February 27, 2009 at 115 Bourbon Street. After the fundraiser, the banners will be removed from 115 Bourbon Street and hung on Western Avenue around March 1, 2009. For more information on our fundraiser, please go to the 2009 Event Calendar on our main page.
- Deadlines: The deadline for ordering banners for display on Western Ave. is Wednesday, February 18, 2009.
- Contact: For more information on this program, please contact SSIPC member Jim McKeever on his cell at 773.972.6264, or via e-mail at jg.mckeever@comcast.net. If you want to place an order, please drop your check off at the McKeever residence, 3133 W. 102nd St, Evergreen Park, IL.
NOTE: Banners are good for three years. After three years of usage, a new banner will need to be produced (at the prevailing new banner rate) due to the wear and tear that the banners endure while exposed each spring to our March weather.
